TSF Operations - Operator

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable TSF Operations - Operator, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations, focusing on distributing tailings, monitoring pipelines (poly welding/repair), operating pumps/valves, ensuring site cleanliness (housekeeping), and reporting issues like leaks or downtime to prevent environmental harm and maintain operational efficiency, with duties including, daily inspections,  compliance with safety protocols, supporting TSF Engineers, construction/maintenance tasks and other tasks that may be required by the immediate supervisor. The role will report to the Engineer – Tailings Management

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Assists in conducting routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs
• Follows established protocols for managing and organizing facility-related documentation, such as maintenance records and service contracts
• Diligently follows written procedures, checklists and logs related to equipment operation
• Documents equipment event by conducting inventory as point of reference for equipment upgrade or improvement
• Collects documents and other relevant data according to standard procedures
• Double checks accuracy of data being entered into the system regularly

Educational Background:

• At least High School Graduate.

Work Experience and Background:

• With at least three (3) years’ experience in TSF Operations
• With background in water and tailing management
• With background on clamp and gate valve spigot operation and maintenance.
• With no derogatory record.

Specialization/License:

• With Valid LTO Driver’s License
• With TESDA NC II - Driving

Desired Qualifications

• With experience in TSF Operations.
• Knowledgeable slurry pipe and spigot system
• Knows how to use HydroVu (TSF Water Balance)
• Knows how to use and input piezometer readings/results
• Knowledge of TSF Operations
• Can operate Safety Culture Gadget.
• Maintenance and replacing of spigot gate valves.
• With Basic Computer Skills, MS Applications (Excel and Word),
• Skill in Polywelding Operation.
• Able to read and monitor piezometer readings and maintenance.
• Able to conduct routine inspections on tailings embankment, beaching, and tailings deposition.
• Able to operate spigots.
• Able to communicate findings, issues, and provide updates to the Supervisors.
