Go Trojans!   The Opportunity SAIT is seeking a passionate and innovative Trojans Esports Lead to elevate our campus gaming culture. This role focuses on identifying and launching new Esports opportunities that drive student participation and engagement, while designing immersive event and spectator experiences that energize the SAIT community. The successful candidate will expand the program’s reach by building strong connections with departments such as SAIT Residence, RTBN, FVP, Natoysopoyiis (formerly Chinook Lodge), and the International Student Centre. They will also track and analyze participation data to uncover trends and gaps, helping shape a more inclusive and dynamic Esports environment. The Role
  • Join or create new Esports leagues to create student engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor game title demand. Add or remove curated game titles from library of available games within the SAIT Trojans Esports offerings. Stay on trend while finding games that fit SAIT’s core values and FIRST principles. 
  • Manage and maintain SAIT Trojans Discord, Senet, and Twitch account.
  • Act as Esports team coordinator for competitive teams – open tryouts, onboarding, player and team organization, event management.
  • Oversee basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment – replacing controller batteries, troubleshooting and initiating ITS requests for technical issues, notifying A&R office as needed.
  • Provide supplemental leadership in Esports Studio, liaising among students, players, staff, and A&R office team.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Currently enrolled at SAIT or recent graduate preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., communications, media production, game design, or business) is an asset.
  • Prior experience in Esports coordination, team management, or event planning is an asset.
  • Familiarity with competitive gaming environments and Esports culture.
  • Awareness of SAIT’s core values and FIRST principles to guide game curation.
  • Skills Required
  • Proficiency with Discord, Twitch, and Senet platforms.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for gaming equipment and peripherals.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze game title trends and student engagement data.
  • Ability to create inclusive and engaging Esports experiences for diverse student populations.
  • Ability to generate accurate usage statistics and analyze participation trends.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple teams, events, and digital platforms.
