
Job Purpose:
The Treasury Assistant is responsible for supporting the Treasury & Credit Manager in managing cash flow, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to treasury operations that safeguard the organization’s financial health. Acting as the Treasurer’s primary partner, the Treasury Assistant implements the payment system, ensures that all disbursements are executed on time in line with the established payment plan, and verifies through rigorous controls that all collections are duly received.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure updating of the Treasury procedures and provide assistance to comply with.
- Run at least twice a year the Treasury Control Self-Assessment to make sure that an appropriate Treasury controls framework is in place.
- Ensure control and accounting entries on interest and commissions charged by banks.
- Ability to challenge non-compliant banking operations by identifying irregularities, questioning justifications, and escalating issues based on regulatory standards and best practices.
- Capacity to monitor corrective actions by recording incidents, assigning
- responsibilities, tracking implementation, and reporting outcomes to management and regulators.
- Ensure cash balancing and interbank transfers.
- Assist Finance Control clear up bank reconciliation pending items.
- Deputize for the Treasurer in his absence.
- Ensure suppliers are paid on time
- Draw cheques or bank transfers and dispatch for signature.
- Draw bank transfers for foreign suppliers payments
- Ensure cash collected from customers are properly recorded in AR accounts
- Ensure clearance of internal and external AR and AP queries.
- Provide weekly and monthly treasury dashboard to local management.
- Run and review SAP report on payables.
- Act as the primary partner for bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment between banking and accounting records.
- Explain pending items and drive corrective actions in close collaboration with the accounting team.
Key Challenges
- Assist in daily cash management and forecasting processes.
- Support the reconciliation of bank accounts and ensure timely resolutions of discrepancies.
- Coordinate with banks for transaction processing and other treasury-related inquiries.
- Participate in preparing treasury reports for management review.
- Assist in managing foreign currency transactions and hedging activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the treasury team in various ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks.
Requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:
- Finance degree, economics degree or qualified accountant.
- Knowledge of Vivo Energy Group Governance standards and policies.
- Fluent in French and Business skill in English
- Good communications skills
- Expert in use of MS office tools (Excel, Power Point, Word…) and data extraction from SAP S4HANA.
