About the role

We have a unique opportunity for a Financial Accountant - Treasury and Tax  to join our Finance, based at our Fender EMEA head office in East Grinstead! Reporting to EMEA Finance Manager, this role will assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns for the EMEA region, assist with treasury requirements, balance sheet control, supporting the annual audit process, and maintaining strong internal controls and governance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures and identify/establish internal controls and ensure their operating effectiveness,
  • Preparing concise, accurate, timely and detailed general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries according to specified corporate formats and deadlines,
  • Assist with month end reporting to ensure adherence to group deadlines.
  • Assist with setting up and implementing new PO system and monitoring PO authorisations.
  • Responsible for UK & EU compliance with various regulatory environmental reporting requirements,
  • Development of multi-currency cashbooks and bank reconciliations
  • Preparing cashflow forecast for EMEA region working with Credit Control department to accurately forecast cashflows,
  • Assisting with balance sheet forecast and annual budget, working with Hyperion, including variance analysis versus budget and prior year.
  • Responsible for complex intercompany accounting and reconciliation.
  • Assist with audit, preparation, and submission of EMEA statutory accounts,
  • Maintaining records and documents for company secretarial purposes for various UK and EMEA companies,
  • Identify process improvements and implement once approved,
  • Provide further ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and Financial Director where required,
  • Ad hoc projects and tasks

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Part qualified/qualified accountant, AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA equivalent,
  • Ideally candidates will have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar internationally focused role,
  • Practical experience of statutory and fiscal reporting for medium sized companies
  • Practical experience of the audit process.
  • Knowledge of accounting under FRS 102 regulations
  • Prior experience of complex intercompany accounting
  • Experience of FX and multi-currency accounting
  • Strong excel skills,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail,
  • Deadline driven with the ability to remain calm under pressure,
  • Proactive
  • Multi-tasking, flexible and adaptable

Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Knowledge/Experience of Intrastat & EU Sales Listing,
  • Knowledge of US/IFRS GAAP,
  • SAP,
  • AS400
  • Hyperion,
  • Additional language skills would be an advantage, including French, German, Spanish, Swedish or Italian
