The Transport Planner is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily transportation activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods. This role acts as the central communication point between carriers, warehouses, suppliers, and customers, ensuring smooth execution of all transport operations.
Tasks and Responisbilities
- Create deliveries & shipments for every outbound activity
- Calculate loading meters and timely book transport to ensure a timely delivery
- Schedule transport on requested loading date and inform customer about the ETA of the shipment
- Follow up very closely the status of the shipments to load:
- Content of the shipment, will all materials be available on the moment of loading? If not, take action together with colleagues of production/purchase
- Arrival of the driver, if a driver is too late, take action in order to check the real time of arrival and communicate with the warehouse.
- Arrival of the driver at assembly site, if a driver will be late, inform the project manager and try to inform him/her with a new eta.
- Follow-up & reschedule missed deliveries & loadings
- Prepare and verify the required transport documents, including export documentation where needed
- Coordinate the customs formalities for every export delivery with our logistics partner
- Coordinate the outbound activities in the warehouse
- Handle transport complaints in close cooperation with the Quality Department
- You have a bachelor's degree in logistics or economics (or related) or equivalent through experience
- You have a first experience in transport coordination, logistics, planning, or warehouse operations.
- You have a strong knowledge of transport regulations and documentation.
- You have proficiency with TMS systems, ERP platforms and MS office. Proficiency with SAP is a plus.
- You are an excellent communicator with good problem-solving skills.
- You are able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- You have experience with international shipments and customs procedures, or you are willing to develop your knowledge in this matter.
- Knowledge of route optimization and cost‑saving strategies is a plus.
- You have an interest / affinity in working in a technical environment
- In addition to Dutch, you have a fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written)
