Training Specialist (Emergency Management)

Position: Training Specialist

Reports To: Director, Training & Documentation

Location: Atlanta, GA (preferred) or Remote US

Overview:

We are looking for technologists who want to use their training, instructional design, and communication skills to help Juvare clients improve emergency response and make the world a safer and more resilient place. Our team works from our Atlanta office or remotely. This is a client-facing, individual contributor role. We want team players who have a passion for client success and embrace our core values:

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs, including emergency management and technical assistance as more fully described below.
  • Develop
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop content to explain product functionality for existing and upcoming features.
    • Partner with client-facing teams to surface product training opportunities.
    • Develop curriculum and material suitable for synchronous and asynchronous learning for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Develop training assets such as handbooks, student guides, scenario event lists, exercise plans, manuals, slide presentations, videos, and related materials.
    • Maintain a library of up-to-date, relevant, product-specific course materials.
    • Maintain Juvare brand standards in content.
  • Coordinate
    • Ensure that training venues are well-equipped for face-to-face learning experiences.
    • Assist in managing the training schedule as needed.
  • Deliver
    • Conduct live training sessions virtually and in person.
    • Present comfortably to a wide range of stakeholders, including executives, emergency managers, and technologists.
    • Write, edit, record, and produce training material for asynchronous learning.
    • Collaborate with marketing and client success teams to syndicate new training materials for maximum impact.
  • Maintain compliance with Juvare policies and information security standards.
  • Safeguard company and client information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience in adult learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Instructor qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions according to ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Active clearance or ability to obtain.

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Former military experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with technology solutions for training delivery.
  • Experience with live (virtual and face-to-face) training delivery.
  • Desire to understand the emergency management mission and how our software supports improvement.
  • Collaborative mindset in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Familiarity with business analysis, GIS tools, and comprehensive emergency management is a plus.
  • Experience with project management software is beneficial.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% on average.
  • Knowledge of preparedness and response regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of Public Health and Healthcare operations preferred.
  • Passion for exceptional client service.

This position requires access to information that is controlled by the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).  A candidate must qualify as a “U.S. Person” or be otherwise eligible to access EAR covered materials through an EAR exception or license.  A "U.S. Person" as defined by the EAR includes a U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
