Trainee Engineer (BNU X DO University Program)

DigitalOcean is committed to investing in nurturing fresh graduates through training programs and launching its first-of-its-kind program in collaboration with Beaconhouse National University (BNU), where final-year undergraduates, and graduates, irrespective of their background, can come to Beaconhouse National University Campus to learn about Linux, the Cloud, Web and Systems programming and Deployment on the cloud and get a chance to become a part of a global company. We are looking for fresh graduates and undergraduates in their final year, who have an idea of how the web works and have a passion for coding and start their careers in this field. 
 
If you are curious and a self-learner, want to explore the world of Linux, Web, Programming, and the Cloud, and are ready to dedicate your time to undergo Five Months of on-campus (Beaconhouse National University, Lahore) extensive training, then this academy program will serve you as your stepping stone. During the program, you will be guided, directed, and coached and you will be expected to learn new things at a fast pace. Those who excel in the program after the end of those five months will be given a chance to work full-time at DigitalOcean to help build amazing world-class products.

What You’ll Be Doing:

If you are selected for this program after the deep assessment process, you will be put through a five-month-long training program at BNU Campus, Lahore, under the supervision of amazing leaders, five days a week, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will learn about Linux, the cloud, web, and systems programming, and cloud deployment and management. This will be a super-charged training program, where you will be expected to learn many new things on your own in a short period. During the training program, you may be required to work alone or in groups toward specific goals. Assignments throughout training will be used to judge your progress and learning aptitude. 

At the end of this initial training, an exhaustive interview process will filter out the people we need. If you are the person we are looking for, you will be selected for the full-time role at DigitalOcean.

Once selected, you will sit alongside our expanding cloud engineering team and go through our carefully selected product training program. As you pass through different layers of the training, you will be allowed a taste of production by exposing you to write codes/deployments. Over time as you continue through the product training program and become adept at solving issues, you will transition into the main engineering team and become a full part of it. At that point, you will have graduated from the academy. 

What We’ll Expect From You:

•  Strong verbal and written English communication
•  Strong desire to learn new things on your own
•  Strong desire to work on Cloud, Linux, Web and Systems programming, and Deployment and Management of Cloud
•  Linux and cloud experience, if available, is a plus but not needed.
•  Previous experience in any software development will be a plus.
• A knack for learning and exploring technical concepts and things.
