What you will do:

  • Assist in delivering diverse traffic and transportation projects—from traffic impact studies to safety assessments and feasibility analyses.
  • Analyze traffic data and evaluate transportation system performance using industry-standard tools.
  • Support the preparation of reports, graphics, presentations, and technical memos.
  • Help prepare proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work with guidance from senior staff.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply modeling, simulation, and analytical software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, TransModeler, ArcGIS Pro, etc.).
  • Grow in your knowledge of national guidance (MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO Green Book, etc.) and local agency standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field. A master’s degree with a focus on Transportation is a plus.
  • Experience: 0–3 years of professional experience, including internships, co-ops, or research.
  • Skills & Tools:
    • Familiarity with Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, or similar tools is helpful.
    • Basic programming or data skills (e.g., Python, R, Excel VBA, GIS) are a bonus.
  • Certifications: Engineering Intern (EI/EIT) certification, obtained or in progress preferred.

The pay for this position has a range of $70,000 - $85,000 annually. The actual offer will carefully consider a range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
