As a Tracking Specialist within Docplanner’s Data Platform Team, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the accurate, reliable, and consistent collection of data across our diverse platforms and products. This role is essential in the context of our Data Governance initiatives: indeed, your focus will be designing and enforcing tracking governance, ensuring data integrity to support our decision making processes. You will oversee the entire data lifecycle of tracking events, from initial implementation to monitoring quality and suggesting improvements. This role is positioned at the intersection of product, analytics, and GTM teams to define and implement robust tracking solutions and ensure that data is treated as a product. You'll empower teams to utilise data autonomously, contributing to Docplanner’s data-driven culture and operational efficiency. We strongly believe in data democratization.
Your day to day work in the first months will be focused on continuing the implementation and roll out of our tracking toolset (Amplitude and AVO), both in monolithic applications, as well as microservices. Later you will have a decisive influence on whether or not a new toolset will replace Google Analytics in user tracking.
How would you be impacting our mission?
In this role, your impact on Docplanner's mission will be substantial:
Enabling data-informed decisions: By implementing effective tracking systems, you will empower teams to make informed, data-backed decisions.
Promoting data ownership: Your work will support a culture where teams take ownership of the data they produce, encouraging them to define and curate metrics and make them available for reuse.
Supporting data accessibility: You will contribute to making data more accessible and unified, enabling teams to explore data, build reports, and reuse data models. You will also work to streamline and consolidate existing tools to create a more efficient data ecosystem.
Guaranteeing data quality & accuracy: Your expertise will ensure that the data collected is accurate and reliable, providing a strong foundation for analysis and decision-making. This will directly improve the quality of insights and the effectiveness of strategies across the company.
What will help you thrive?
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Proficiency in Data Tracking: designing, implementing, and maintaining data tracking solutions across web and mobile platforms. You should have a basic understanding of data tracking best practices, principles, and use cases.
Proficiency with Data Tracking Tools and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs). Knowledge of one or more industry-standard tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment, Rudderstack, or similar platforms) is highly valued. You should be proficient in tracking web events, user behaviour, and mobile app interactions.
Proficiency with tag management systems, such as Google Tag Manager or Adobe Launch.
Proficiency with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) and their integration with tracking solutions is necessary to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
Proficiency in understanding and working with data models, including knowledge of data warehouses, data marts, and ETL processes. Familiarity with DBT would be beneficial.
Proficiency in programming languages: experience in SQL and familiarity with Python for data manipulation and analysis. Familiarity with JavaScript would be a plus.
You must be able to analyze data quality issues, identify discrepancies, and define solutions for more accurate and reliable tracking.
Proven experience working with cross-functional teams, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Pragmatic approach to problem solving, with the ability to experiment, test hypotheses, and adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
Ability to take ownership of data-related tasks, work autonomously, and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
You must be familiar with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant policies to ensure that tracking practices are compliant.
Which skills are ‘bonus points’?
The following skills would be advantageous:
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
Experience in data visualisation tools such as Looker, Superset, Tableau, or PowerBI.
Experience setting up tracking tests and validations (A/B testing).
Knowledge of APIs and SDKs: Experience working with different APIs, and familiarity with SDKs for web and mobile platforms.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git, is beneficial for code management and collaboration.
