Applications are now open for The Telegraph’s Newsroom Work Experience Programme.
The Telegraph is an award-winning, multimedia news brand that has been synonymous with quality, authority and trusted reporting for 170 years.
We are offering a two-week placement in April 2026 where you will gain hands-on experience alongside award-winning journalists in our fast-paced newsroom. The programme is based in our London office (Victoria) and we will help cover the costs of your travel, food and accommodation (if required).
You should be creative and eager to learn new skills and demonstrate a passion for news and journalism.
The dates for the placements will be w/c 30th March or 13th April 2026, so please ensure that you are available on one of those dates.

2. An explanation about why you are keen to work in journalism and to do so at The Telegraph (in no more than 100 words)
3. An idea for a news or feature project which you can work on while you are in the newsroom, with support from our journalists (again, no more than 100 words)

Requirements
To be considered for this work experience opportunity, you must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the placement and have the right to work in the UK.
Ideally you should be studying journalism at university or working towards your NCTJ qualification or equivalent. However, If you aren’t doing one of these courses but believe you should still be considered, please outline why in your application.
