Test Engineer Journeyman

Overview
We’re seeking a Test Engineer (Journeyman) to support a space weather satellite mission operations program, focused on integration and validation of mission-critical systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in testing methodologies and a passion for ensuring system reliability in a complex, high-impact environment.
What You’ll Do
Support integration and testing of satellite mission operations systems
Execute test plans across telemetry & command (T&C), data operations, and mission applications
Perform trending and analysis to validate system performance and identify anomalies
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using modern testing frameworks
Utilize test management tools to track test cases, defects, and overall system quality
Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and support resolution efforts
Collaborate with software, systems, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in test engineering or integration testing
Foundational knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
Experience with telemetry & command systems, data operations, or mission-based applications
Hands-on experience with test tools such as Zephyr Scale (or similar test management tools)
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber and Cypress
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system validation and defect identification
Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g., JavaScript, Python)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting satellite or space-based systems
Familiarity with integration testing in mission-critical or real-time environments
Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
Experience working in DoD, aerospace, or regulated environments
Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
