Test Engineer (Fixed-Term Contract – until September 2026)

The role of Test Engineers is to thoroughly test hardware for various robotic applications, as well as the specification, design, development and construction of innovative and specialised test devices and test rigs, to perform HW level tests. In addition this role will support the creation of test requirements and test sequences, considering internal and customer requirements and development of risk analysis tools, of used technologies and required mission profile. Last but not least, role requires the ability to Script test sequences to allow partial or full automation of HW test cases and documentation of test results, maintaining traceability with test cases and HW requirements and support the Root Cause Analysis of component or design failures after testing. 

This role includes, among others:

  • Gathering specifications, product and safety standards, schematics, and drawings;
  • Setting up test environments, test plans, creating test procedures, and executing tests encompassing component, functionality, performance, and safety aspects;
  • Analysing and interpreting test data to generate comprehensive reports and provide valuable insights and recommendations to your R&D colleagues;
  • Ensuring electrical and mechanical safety and continuous improvement of internal test facilities;
  • Supporting with calibration procedures of measuring equipment;
  • Planning and organising testing activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Broad Engineering or Physics Background
  • Agility in the way of working and a  “make the most out of less” mentality
  • Basic Scripting skills
  • Understand the principles of measurement (Accuracy, Precision, Validity, Repeatability, Calibration)
  • Fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis

Desirable

  • Experience with Labview 
  • Experience with CAD software
  • 3D Printing 
  • Working with Arduino
  • Familiar with Matlab
  • Familiar with ROS and Linux
  • Hands-on experience
  • Testing/Laboratory equipment experience
