*LIFT operates sites in Chicago, Los Angeles, DC, and New York. Currently, LIFT is operating as a hybrid work environment. Accordingly, this role will be expected to work in the DC office 1-2 days a week; Thursdays and potentially one other day of the week 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Administrative Office Assistant will ensure smooth operations of the DC office through overall office management and assisting the DC Executive Director. The Administrative Office Assistant will work in close collaboration with program, development, IT, and Talent & Culture staff to create a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of routine and ad hoc tasks, is highly organized, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.  

 

*This temporary part-time position requires approximately 1-2 hours per week. The Administrative Office Assistant needs to accomplish most tasks during core business hours Monday through Friday and is in the office 1-2 days a week (Thursday and potentially another day depending on the need). 

 

 

AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE ASSISTANT, YOU WILL… 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for building management, office supplies, deliveries, and facility needs. (1x/week) 
  • Welcome guests, manage mail, and incoming phone calls ensuring inquiries are directed to the correct employee. (1x week) 
  • Support the DC Executive Director with scheduling (for exec or foundation leaders), expense reports, notetaking, and meeting logistics. (2x week depending on request) 
  • Assist with DC development efforts including making check deposits, Salesforce data entry, and donor tax receipts. (1x/week) 
  • Collaborate with IT for tech needs and support hybrid activities, including in-person and virtual meeting setup & closeout. (based on need) 
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance, cleanup, and fixes, and manage office equipment (water filter, coffee machine, dishwasher). (1x/week) 
     

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE 

  • Have 1+ years of experience in an administrative, customer service, or support role. 
  • Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Are comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams. 
  • Can handle confidential information with discretion. 
  • Are proficient with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms. 
  • Are available for core working hours of 10am–2pm ET.

WHAT WE OFFER 

  • Salary: $22/hour. LIFT’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for our non-profit sector and ensure equity across the organization. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as qualifications and experience, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information at the time of hire, but not based on a candidate’s protected status.
