As a Teleoperations Lead at Sunday Robotics, you will refine the teleoperations process, enabling data collection and supporting development towards better autonomy in robots.
At Sunday, we're developing personal robots to reclaim the hours lost to repetitive tasks. We're focused on an ambitious goal to make generalized robots broadly accessible, enabling households to take back quality time.
We have spent the last 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating our technology. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join us in the next phase of our growth. If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
What to Expect
We're looking for an Teleoperations Lead to join our Data team and own the operations side of teleoperations.
This role is not about turning teleoperation into the core product experience. Instead, it is about using teleoperation in the right ways: to support data collection, accelerate experimentation, enable debugging, and provide a safe fallback when autonomous performance degrades.
You'll work in coordination with Machine Learning, Software engineering, Hardware engineering, and our in-house Memory Developers to define when and how teleoperation should be used, improve the quality of teleoperated sessions, and help turn teleoperated interactions into better autonomy over time. Your role is vital to ensuring our Memory Developers execute teleoperation properly by creating and enforcing processes while also teaching Memory Developers how to use the tools that you help build.
What You'll Do
Own all of teleoperation operations
Create documentation
Audit data collected from teloperations
Help build teleoperations tools
Teach Memory Developers how to use teleoperations tools that you help build
Streamline existing teleoperations processes in coordination with Data, ML, SWE, and Hardware
Design teleoperations ranging from the specifics of a task all the way to designing rooms
What You'll Bring
Clear written and verbal communication to guide our Memory Developers
Your ability to manage unexpected challenges
Your ownership of key stakeholders with memory developers, engineering, and support
Excitement for the growth and development of teleoperations
Someone adept at prioritization of competing requests, who's able to move both quickly, and in an organized manner
A level of hardcore-ness while still treating people like people
Intermediate level understanding of ML
Nice to Have
Previous experience leading teleoperations for robotics companies
Technical skills to build tools for teleoperations
Ability to leverage AI to help improve productivity
At Sunday Robotics, we’re building technology shaped by real people — curious, creative, and diverse. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. Studies show that women and underrepresented groups often hold back unless they meet 100% of the criteria — we don’t want that to be the reason we miss out on great talent.
Sunday is building personal robots that take care of repetitive tasks, allowing busy households to reclaim their valuable time. Our focus is on making these smart, generalized robots accessible to everyone, freeing families to spend more time on what truly matters.
