Technician - Geological Services

This role is responsible for the efficient conduct of underground and surface geological data collection, including but not limited to: core processing, drill contractor supervision, drill site preparation, rock, soil and sediment sampling, data entry and general project assistance within the exploration and geology department

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Core and Sample Support, including warehousing, core cutting & photography, recovery logging, geotechnical logging etc
• Restocking of all geology and sampling related supplies.
• Surface (both ground and helicopter based, and Underground Drill Support).
• Core and sample collection as required.
• Drill Site & Drill Rig preparation and Inspections.
• Rehab of drill sites.
• Contractor Liaison (Trucks, Drillers, Heavy Equipment).
• Field support to exploration field programmes.
• Ground and heli supported programmes.
• Rock, soil and sediment sampling.
• Geological & geophysical surveys

• Secondary schooling
• Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
• Forklift, Chainsaw, 4WD training, bush skills, First Aid experience preferred.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products
