SIXGEN is looking for a Tech Writer with a diverse set of skills and technical knowledge with the ability to respond and adapt to unique requirements. Our ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of IT systems and can independently create reports describing complex system networking/architecture, network traffic analysis, and device image analysis. Additionally, this candidate will interact regularly with leadership so strong communication skills are essential. This role will support documentation generation for a highly skilled team of software developers and analysts. Ideally, the candidate has a innate, strong interest in technology and stays up to date on latest technology trends and capabilities.

 

Required Skills: Candidates are expected to have technical knowledge/skills in the following areas and are able to generate reports, documents, and deliverables associated with these technical areas:

  • Familiarity with computer network / IT systems and how they function cohesively
  • Understanding of general operating system functionality and directory structures of Linux, Windows, and MacOS
  • Can execute basic CLI commands within a Linux environment (Move, copy, navigate directories, search, launch programs, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms, Kubernetes, and containerization, and how they function/operate.
  • Basic knowledge of network management and configuration including VLAN, VPN, SSH tunneling, firewalls, Linux-based routing.
  • Scripting and IT automation including bash, python, and/or PowerShell is not a hard requirement, but good to have.

Salary Band; $120,000-$150,000
