  • Ensure customers and Highland’s Technicians achieve technical self-sufficiency in performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repair operations on electric vehicles and charging infrastructure without ongoing onsite support
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions covering lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, zero voltage verification, high-voltage safety protocols, component replacement, software-based troubleshooting, and fault detection processes
  • Deliver training on advanced diagnostic techniques, including CAN trace analysis, isolation fault detection, thermal management diagnostics, battery management system troubleshooting, and power electronics diagnostics
  • Provide engineering-level support and troubleshooting assistance to customers when complex repair challenges exceed standard training scope, serving as an additional escalation point for technical issues
  • Compile and organize training materials from Highland, OEM partners, and third-party sources into cohesive, customer-ready training curricula
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, quick reference guides (QRGs), standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting flowcharts for customer use
  • Assess training effectiveness through hands-on evaluations, competency certifications, and post-training follow-up to ensure knowledge retention, and maintain accurate records of training sessions, competency assessments, and technical support interactions
  • Maintain deep technical expertise across all Highland OEM platforms, charging equipment, diagnostic tools, and subsystem components through continuous learning and manufacturer training programs
  • Collaborate with Highland's Technology and Engineering teams to stay current on system updates, new diagnostic tools, software platforms, and emerging technical solutions
  • Adapt training content and delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles, technical backgrounds, and operational environments across diverse customer organizations
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair
  • 3+ years of technical training or instruction experience (EV experience preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of electric vehicle powertrains and vehicle diagnostics, with expertise in using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience and familiarity with National Standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and high-voltage safety protocols; ASE certifications, or equivalent EV-specific certifications strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and instructional design skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, develop training materials, and manage multiple customer training programs simultaneously
  • Valid Commercial Driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites (up to 50% travel); ability to work independently, adapt to varying site conditions, and operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving technology
