As a Technical Support Specialist at Kitware, you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team, working closely with teammates in maintaining critical infrastructure used by Kitware's research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects.
In This Position You Will:
Provide support for end-user hardware and software including Windows, Linux, and macOS
Install, configure, and update software in accordance with policies and security requirements
Manage user accounts including account creation, modification, and deactivation
Support regulated and customer-sponsored computing environments, including environments subject to security clearance, as needed
Handle support requests submitted via the helpdesk system
Maintain hardware inventory, including ordering of equipment
Act as liaison to outside vendors such as Dell and Apple, and coordinate/assist with service calls
Advise on future hardware and software needs
Other related support duties as necessary
Required Qualifications:
Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, along with the willingness and ability to obtain, use, and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph
Bachelor's or associate's degree in an IT-related field, with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent amount of education and experience
Security+ or willingness to successfully obtain required certifications
Experience with MS Windows and Linux
Experience with wired and wireless networks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
The ability to lift 25-50 pounds
