About the Role

The Sales Engineer supports sales teams by serving as the technical subject matter expert throughout the sales lifecycle. This role partners closely with customers to understand business and technical challenges and designs solutions aligned to customer goals and constraints.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Cloud
  • Cybersecurity
  • Infrastructure
  • Networking
  • Storage
  • Virtualization

Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for audiences ranging from technical engineers to executive stakeholders. The role requires the ability to identify solution patterns and anti-patterns and recommend the most appropriate approach based on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales teams by developing and documenting technical solutions aligned to customer needs and objectives
  • Create sales support documentation, including responses to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs; architectural diagrams; solution requirements; and pricing or quoting materials
  • Identify and support sales opportunities through technical discovery and solution alignment
  • Collaborate with sales teams, vendors, partners, and customers
  • Obtain and maintain technical certifications aligned with organizational strategy
  • Travel for events, meetings, or conferences as needed (typically quarterly)
  • Continuously assess work quality and efficiency and recommend improvements to systems and processes
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned



Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience or coursework supporting, designing, or implementing technology infrastructure solutions (physical, virtual, or cloud-based)
  • Interest in pursuing or currently holding advanced or expert-level certifications in strategic technology areas or vendor platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting federal customers or projects



Work Authorization / Security Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance



Nice to Have

  • Professional-level or architect-level certifications
  • Existing or recent federal agency EOD or active clearance
  • Experience working for or with a value-added reseller (VAR)


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office or remote environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move moderate weight as required on an occasional basis
