Overview

Instacart’s Technical Accounting, Revenue, and External Reporting team partners across the business to ensure our diverse revenue streams are recognized accurately, on time, and in alignment with ASC 606. We operate at the intersection of product, sales, legal, finance, and systems to support the company’s marketplace, advertising, subscription, and enterprise offerings.

We are seeking a Technical Revenue Accounting Manager to own complex revenue topics, advise on deal structures and new product launches, and drive an efficient, well-controlled revenue close. You will be a key partner to Accounting, Finance, Legal, Tax, Business Development, Sales, and FinSys, and work closely with our external auditors and SOX advisors. This role is a high-visibility opportunity to influence policy and process beyond core accounting while working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

You’ll join a lean, collaborative team where you will have clear ownership, direct impact, and the opportunity to build for scale. If you thrive on solving complex problems, rolling up your sleeves, and partnering cross-functionally to get things right the first time, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Lead and continuously improve key revenue processes and controls; coordinate audit and SOX requests, manage PBC deliverables, and drive timely resolution of issues with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with FinSys and Data teams to enhance revenue systems, tooling, and data quality (requirements, UAT, and rollouts) to support automation, scale, and accuracy.
  • Support new product and pricing initiatives by translating business requirements into compliant accounting outcomes; create training, FAQs, and guidance for cross-functional partners.
