We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.
We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.
Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organized, technically savvy, and collaborative Technical Project Manager (TPM) to drive high-impact initiatives across our Data Platform. In this role, you’ll lead complex, cross-functional projects that build, enhance, and scale our data infrastructure — including our data lake, data vault, data marts, reverse ETL pipelines, and operational reporting systems.
As a TPM at Rula, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Finance, Clinical Ops, Customer Service, and Engineering, helping translate business needs into robust, scalable data solutions. You’ll quickly build a strong understanding of Rula’s key data sources, flows, and consumption patterns, while partnering with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to prioritize work, scope projects, and deliver value through agile execution.
Day-to-day, you’ll support the teams by facilitating roadmap planning and prioritization, managing the backlog (including tech debt identification and grooming), leading requirements gathering for incoming requests, tracking cross-team dependencies (especially with Analytics Engineering), and coordinating external communications during incidents or ongoing issues. With a strong foundation in data platform project management — ideally involving modern data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics tooling — you’ll play a key role in clarifying and evolving the data roadmap, removing blockers, and ensuring reliable, predictable delivery.
This is a highly cross-functional role with room to grow and evolve as Rula scales — flexibility, curiosity, and a partnership mindset are key.
Required Qualifications
6 years of technical project management experience. Industry experience in SaaS, healthcare, or high-growth startup environments makes for a great match
Industry experience in SaaS, healthcare, or high-growth startup environments is highly preferred, especially where data drives decision-making across functions like Product, Marketing, Finance, and Clinical Ops.
Strong familiarity with AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, Spectrum, EMR, Kinesis, or related ecosystem tools) and modern data stack components (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake alternatives, reverse ETL tools like Census/Hightouch).
Proven experience leading cross-functional data projects involving Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, Clinical Ops, Customer Service, or broader Engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects using Agile methodologies (e.g., sprints, backlogs, stand-ups, retrospectives, velocity tracking, and dependency management).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate complex technical data concepts and trade-offs for non-technical audiences while driving alignment and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent experience).
4 years focused on data platform, data warehousing, or analytics engineering initiatives (e.g., data lakes, data vaults, data marts, ETL/ELT pipelines, reverse ETL, or operational reporting systems).
Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or data tools (e.g., dbt Analytics Engineering, Snowflake SnowPro, or equivalent).
Experience delivering projects in healthcare tech, mental health services, or regulated data environments (e.g., HIPAA)
Experience working with remote technical teams and distributed stakeholders across time zones
2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3, Athena, Lake Formation) and modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, reverse ETL platforms like Census or Hightouch), either in a project management, analytics engineering, or data engineering capacity.
