At Warner Music Group, we’re a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:
• Curiosity: We do our best work when we’re immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.
• Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans.
• Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we’re committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.
Technology is one of the most important parts of our business. Whether it’s signing up new artists; ensuring we provide the right data to Spotify, YouTube, and other digital service providers; or helping artists use the latest AI tools and make thoughtful decisions with data-driven insights – technology plays an invaluable role in our success. The engineering team at Warner Music Group makes all of it a reality.
WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at WMG, you will be the engine that drives complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to delivery. This is an entry-level position designed for a high-achieving self-starter who thrives on order, clarity, and execution. You won’t just track tasks; you will own the planning and execution of programs across engineering, product, design, and business teams, ensuring we ship world-class software that impacts millions of music fans.
Responsibilities:
End-to-End Ownership: Collaborate with engineering, product, UX design, and cybersecurity to define technical requirements, set aggressive but achievable priorities, and establish project scope.
Strategic Communication: Develop and own a comprehensive communication strategy. You will be the "single source of truth," proactively reporting status, identifying risks, and distilling complex technical issues for leadership and stakeholders.
Operational Excellence: Lead the annual and quarterly OKR (Objectives and Key Results) planning processes. You will ensure every product team is driving toward measurable goals and relentlessly remove roadblocks.
Dependency Management: Masterfully manage cross-functional dependencies and resource allocation by optimizing scope and schedule in a fast-shifting environment.
Process Innovation: Actively identify inefficiencies and drive internal process improvements. You will be expected to reduce manual efforts through automation and creative problem-solving.
Execution & Rigor: Drive teams to stay on plan and within budget while aggressively tracking and closing technical issues.
About You:
Technical Foundation: Have a background in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practice experience. You must be able to "speak engineer" and understand the software development lifecycle (SDLC) deeply.
Systems Literacy: Experience assisting in the management of operational excellence or incident management programs for heavy-traffic software applications.
Organizational Mastery: Highly organized with a "Type-A" approach to project management. You have a proven ability to develop efficient organizational mechanisms and implement metrics/KPIs to measure success.
Bias for Action: A self-starter who can identify technical and non-technical risks before they become problems and develop strategic roadmaps that align with company-wide objectives.
Passion: A genuine love for music and a desire to innovate within the industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in a technical project/program management role or a highly technical internship at a reputable tech company.
Exposure to or experience with infrastructure, platform systems, and the migration or deprecation of distributed systems.
Experience shipping consumer-facing software at scale.
