Technical Product Manager

From our founding in 2009 through more than 10 acquisitions, Xpansiv has become a global leader in environmental commodity markets.  We are backed by Blackstone and other leading investors Position Summary: APX, an Xpansiv Company, is seeking a results-oriented product manager to lead and design registry software supporting environmental market commodities such as renewables, carbon, fuels, and plastics Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute initiatives for registry clients which include responsibilities such as business development, scope facilitation, product specifications, and overall delivery to market/client.  
  • Conceptualize and mature business ideas or concepts into clear, actionable proposals and/or feature requests; this may require distilling a feature request into its underlying functionality to recommend the most fitting implementation approach. 
  • Collaborate as a leader with clients, commercial or product peers, architecture and technical teams to structure priorities, allocate resources, communicate or refine business concepts, and challenge implementation approaches as needed. 
  • Document product specifications with highest degree of caliber, cataloging both functional and nonfunctional requirements.  
  • Lead the engineering effort to market, from project inception and client-facing workshops through to status reports, UAT, and go-live efforts, keeping in line with company policy and standards. 
  • Evaluate the product portfolio from a business and software delivery perspective, with an emphasis on how to best sequence the pipeline and/or develop a business opportunity. 
  • Establish the success metrics of an initiative at project onset, relying on previous, proven work experiences and current-day research to garner consensus and alignment from cross-functional teams. 
  • Maintain a general understanding or working knowledge of the IT systems and their connections 
  • Champion agile methodology and other standards or tools to gain efficiencies in product specification, UI/UX design, and project management.
  • Qualifications:
  • Computer Science Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, Systems Administration, or related disciplines. 
  • MBA is a plus. 
  • 5+ years as a product manager, preferably in a SaaS offering and/or the environmental, carbon, or ESG market spaces. 
  • Proven track record of portfolio delivery, 2MM++ 
  • Experience in an IT role is a plus. 
  • Experience using Azure or Jira for Agile projects. 
  • Certified in Agile is a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of markup languages, HTML, CSS, SQL, and NoSQL is a plus.

  • Exceptional communications skills and client presence in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong project management and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and results oriented. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technology and business partners, and to lead compromises between the two. 
  • Ability to lead a portfolio of projects to success. 
  • Ability to create user journeys, user stories, wireframes, and basic diagrams to convey ideas.

    Base Salary
    Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:
    New York: Compensation is expected to be between
    $130,000-$140,000
