Position Summary
The Technical Presales Manager ESS is responsible for providing technical pre-sales support for energy storage system solutions across the region. The role supports Sales teams by delivering technical expertise, solution design, bid support, and customer-facing presentations for utility-scale and C&I ESS projects.
Reporting line: Head of Technical Europe
Major Responsibilities
- Provide technical pre-sales support for ESS products, including customer communication, technical clarification, and solution presentations in collaboration with Sales
- Design and configure ESS solutions, including product selection, system sizing, technicalpreparation, and cost-related inputs for quotations
- Participate in tender and bidding processes; prepare and review technical bid documents in English and Chinese
- Support the drafting and review of technical specifications and technical agreements for ESS projects
- Act as a technical interface between Sales, HQ technical teams, product management, and customers
- Deliver internal and external technical training sessions for ESS products and solutions
- Support technical evaluations of customer requirements, grid standards, and project feasibility
- Contribute to continuous improvement of technical documentation, solution templates, and pre-sales processes
- Perform additional technical tasks or project support as assigned by leadership
- Bid win support rate / technical contribution to successful tenders
- Turnaround time for technical proposals and configurations
- Number and quality of technical trainings delivered
- Reduction in technical clarification cycles or bid revisions
- Stakeholder feedback from Sales and customers
Your profile
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field
- Proven experience in ESS technical support or pre-sales, preferably with utility-scale and/or residential energy storage systems
- Strong understanding of the European energy storage market, grid requirements, and customer expectations
- Strong technical expertise in energy storage systems and solution design
- Experience supporting large-scale ESS projects is strongly preferred
- English and Dutch: minimum requirement C1 (professional working proficiency)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including creation and delivery of PPTs
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused working style
- Strongcross-functionalcollaborationskills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Regular travel across Netherlands as required
- Occasional travel within Europe
