Core Responsibilities 

The Technical Operative is responsible for the effective running and basic maintenance of the factory machinery. Reporting to Operations, this role plays a key part in the smooth running of the production line.  The equipment used will vary from box erectors to vertical form fillers and multihead weighers. Role will include: 

• Basic proactive maintenance of equipment
• Carry out minor repairs on machinery
• Operate machinery as part of the production team
• Complete daily safety start up checks
• Respond to first instance blockages and stoppages
• Regular cleaning of equipment
• Liaise with the Engineering department on matters associated with the equipment
• Support the production team on clear down days to clean the picking loops and/or repack area

Who You are 

• This is a physical role moving around a large factory, lifting up to 20kg
• Previous experience gained within a similar role
• Mechanically minded with working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• A confident and forward thinking team player.
• Excellent attention to detail, flexibility and problem solving.

Ideally Food Safety level 1
