The Role:

We are looking to bring on a Technical Lead to guide our engineering teams in developing and enhancing our flagship product, Chaturbate. This role combines hands-on software development with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that our technical initiatives align with business goals and that our teams are empowered to deliver high-quality solutions.

You Will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that support our live streaming platform.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers to design, build, and ship features that improve user experience.
• Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable code, and uphold coding standards through regular code reviews and mentoring.
• Own technical architecture decisions for your team by designing systems that balance scalability, reliability, and performance under heavy load.
• Help shape a collaborative, inclusive team culture by setting strong technical examples and encouraging engineers to take ownership.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, 1-1s, and help them grow professionally. 

Requirements

You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong background in web technologies.
• 4+ years of experience in a Senior Engineering role, with at least 2 years leading small engineering teams while remaining actively involved in coding and design.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Experience architecting and optimizing high-traffic, low-latency applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and system architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
• Proven track record of leading teams to design, build, and deliver complex systems from concept to launch.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams.

Bonus Points:

• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and experience with modern frameworks such as Django or Flask
• Professional experience with video streaming technologies
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 annually. Range reflects base salary only. It does not include additional compensation or benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across the U.S. for the posted position. A candidate's specific pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the candidate's job-related skills, relevant education, training, experience, certifications, and abilities of the candidate, as well as other factors unique to each candidate.
