Technical Game Designer

TLDR

Transform greybox layouts into engaging game experiences for Disney Dreamlight Valley while collaborating with talented international teams.

As a Technical Game Designer, you will help bring engaging game worlds to life. Working closely with artists, designers, and engineers, you will transform greybox layouts and visual assets into polished, playable experiences. Your work will involve asset integration, converting 3D models into functional game ingredients, and ensuring these elements meet both gameplay and performance standards before reaching players.

You will be working on Disney Dreamlight Valley - a live game combining life-simulation and adventure, where players explore, complete quests, and shape their own magical world with Disney and Pixar characters.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate game assets (characters, animations, narrative elements) into the engine and make sure they work correctly;
  • Work closely with Art, Narrative, and Animation teams to bring their ideas into the game;
  • Test content in-game and ensure everything meets quality standards;
  • Spot issues early and suggest simple, effective solutions;
  • Improve workflows and tools to make the team more efficient;
  • Share knowledge and support other designers when needed.
  • Practical experience with Unity, including gameplay setup, content integration, and debugging directly in the engine;
  • Basic understanding of Git and OOP principles, with some scripting experience (C# is a plus);
  • Genuine interest in video games and game development, with curiosity about game systems and mechanics;
  • Attentive to detail with a consistent sense of accountability;
  • Good verbal and written communication combined with a diligent work ethic;
  • Consistent and thorough in execution;
  • Ukrainian — full working proficiency;
  • English — full working proficiency.
