We are looking for a Technical Director, Strategic Industries to be our senior-most technical authority and strategic leader for the Retail sector. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will own the technical vision and strategy that helps our retail clients solve their most complex, high-stakes challenges.

About The Role

As the Technical Director for Retail, you will be the executive-level technical partner for our key clients in e-commerce, CPG, and supply chain. Core responsibilities include:

  • Setting the technical strategy for our Retail portfolio, guiding clients on large-scale transformation in areas like digital commerce, customer data platforms (CDP), supply chain optimization, and AI-driven personalization.
  • Acting as the senior technical advisor during high-stakes sales pursuits, partnering with the sales team to design innovative, scalable, and data-driven solutions.
  • Leading and mentoring a community of senior architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation specific to the Retail industry.
  • Building and maintaining C-suite relationships with client CTOs, CIOs, and Heads of Digital, acting as their trusted advisor.
  • Driving the Qodea innovation agenda within the Retail sector, ensuring our teams are operating at the frontier of technology to solve problems that "don't even have answers yet."

This role is designed for impact, and we believe our best work happens when we connect. While we operate a flexible model, we expect you to spend time on site (at our offices or a client location) for collaboration sessions, customer meetings, and internal workshops. Therefore this is a hybrid role where you are required to be onsite (office / client site) for 3 days of the week. 

Requirements

What Success Looks Like

We are looking for someone with the following essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in the Retail sector, with a deep understanding of its unique technical, commercial, and customer-centric challenges.
  • Extensive experience operating as a senior technical authority (e.g., Principal Architect, Director) on large-scale, complex technology programs.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering transformative solutions in areas such as e-commerce platforms, customer data/personalization, supply chain, or martech.
  • Demonstrable experience in C-suite advisory, acting as a trusted technical partner to CTOs, CIOs, and senior business leaders.
