About the role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Technical leader to lead key research and development programs, shaping our technology roadmap and driving innovation competitive edge and enhancing the business sustainability and profitability. Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management & Execution: Effectively motivate and guide teams to maximize performance and ensure portfolios are effectively initiated, planned, executed, monitored, and controlled to achieve organizational objectives. Drive the team to consistently meet deadlines and deliver impactful results.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with divisional leaders, customers, the broader scientific community and external innovation ecosystems. Collaborate with customers to translate unmet needs into actionable technical requirements. Facilitate and manage communication and relationships with external business partners through technical insights.

  • Strategic Innovation & Competitive Advantage: Leverage business trends and customer insights to define actionable goals that create a competitive advantage. Champion the identification and development of new technologies to create novel products and business opportunities. Articulate the business rationale for exploring emerging technologies and secure appropriate resources for successful execution.

  • Technical Leadership & Problem-Solving: Understand complex technical challenges and guide the development of innovative solutions and prototypes. Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and drive technical programs that deliver proprietary products to the market.

  • Drive Results & Deliver Value: Drive both short-term and long-term results to maintain the organization’s credibility and generate opportunities for R&D to significantly contribute to business value.

  • Ethical Leadership: Model and promote the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics and Values.

  • Candidates with stronger technical insights on adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives are preferred.

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, polymers, is highly preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in Materials R&D, engineering research, scientific research, or a related field, including 8+ years of progressive technology management experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated success in translating business needs into actionable technical strategies and innovative product development.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

  • Deep scientific and engineering knowledge within relevant areas.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively advise, influence, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
