ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

The Technical Development Manager will play a critical role in driving innovation and ensuring the technical excellence of Heat transfer solutions within our industry. This individual will lead the development and implementation of new Heat Transfer technologies, materials, and processes, based on internal requests from the Commercial, platform/operation and innovation team while maintaining a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the research, development, and implementation of new labeling technologies, materials, and processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, production) to ensure alignment and successful product launches.

Project Management:

  • Manage technical development projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to achieve project goals.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and maintain quality control standards for labeling products and processes.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure product performance and compliance.
  • Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.

Sustainability:

  • Drive the development and adoption of sustainable labeling solutions.
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of labeling materials and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency.

Customer Support:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to Commercial teams.
  • Troubleshoot labeling issues and provide solutions (when this is a product issue not a quality issue)
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop custom labeling solutions.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical development within the textile or labeling industry.
  • Proven track record of successful product development and commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of labeling technologies, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with quality control and testing procedures.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in the textile industry.
  • Familiarity with textile printing and finishing technologies.
