As a Technical/Delivery Project Manager, you will be accountable for managing and delivering the department's Testing and Deployment project deliverables for our OSP and OMRS solutions across the globe. You will own the scope, budget, risk management, resource, and schedule for these projects, ensuring the delivery of a quality, efficient, professional, and cost-effective Testing and Deployment service.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role that requires technical understanding, project management discipline, and significant travel.
Portfolio Management: Manage BAT projects and processes required to test and integrate OSP & OMRS software into new and existing Ocado solutions.
Team Coordination: Coordinate a team of engineers and testers to execute BAT department deliverables and objectives.
Stakeholder & 3rd Party Management: Serve as a key stakeholder, ensuring all department prerequisites for Delivery & testing are ready. Coordinate with Ocado 3rd Party Suppliers to ensure their products are successfully integrated.
Documentation & Execution: Collect requirements, specifications, and business processes to create scoping documentation, enabling the creation of test cases for execution. Facilitate technical discussions with partners for cutting over solutions into production.
Continuous Improvement: Utilise and drive continuous improvements of software applications for execution, tracking, and reporting of progress, issues, and defect management.
Performance Analysis: Collect and analyse delivery and testing performance metrics to enable continuous improvement and evidence of delivery.
Progress Reporting: Responsible for reporting on project deliverable progress, including daily execution updates and detailed weekly delivery & testing reports outlining Progress vs Planned, Issues, Blockers, and next steps.
Change Management: Ensure that any deviations or change requests from plans are correctly communicated and approved, keeping BAT Leadership informed.
Project Closure: Ensure teams produce a Delivery & Testing specific Project Close Out report upon completion of the testing phase.
Initiation & Execution: Execute project initiation tasks and ensure delivery & testing teams are executing in line with planning assumptions and schedules.
Financial & Risk Management: Create and manage budgets, ensuring execution is met within those budgets. Identify delivery & testing risks and support mitigation options for items affecting Scope, Cost, Schedule, or Resource.
Meetings: Conduct regular project meetings to represent Delivery & Testing.
Continuous Improvement: Actively record lessons learned, construct problem statements, and support agreed solutions to drive department continuous improvement.
Health & Safety: Take ownership of BAT health and safety methods, ensuring they conform to Ocado and local/regional requirements.
You will work as part of an evolving Business Acceptance Testing Team (BAT), within Central Operations. This role requires working collaboratively with all Ocado Central Operations departments, acting as a stakeholder in integrating all OSP and OIA solutions. There are No People Management Accountabilities in this role
This role will require extensive travel/work at sites across the UK/EU/US and internationally.
Extended stays away from home and overseas may be necessary, often for long periods, to support site delivery and testing programmes.
Requirement to work out of hours/shift patterns as needed.
When not onsite, you may be required to attend Head Office locations as directed by Senior Management.

PC literate, including MS Office/Google Docs at a User level.
A*-C GCSE (or Equivalent) in English & Maths.
Valid driving licence and ability to travel internationally is essential.
Experienced ISTQB qualified tester with a good understanding of testing processes and procedures, including experience with scripting/execution against complex test bases.
Health & Safety qualification.
Experience in reviewing requirements and using test and/or defect management tools.
