Technical Delivery Manager – Medical Imaging Visualization & Reporting

AI overview

Lead the end-to-end delivery of advanced medical imaging visualization and reporting platforms, collaborating across engineering, clinical, and enterprise teams to ensure high-quality solutions.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) to lead end-to-end delivery of medical imaging visualization and reporting platforms, including PACS viewers, enterprise imaging, AI-enabled workflows, and analytics dashboards.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, clinical stakeholders, and enterprise customers, ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery of complex healthcare imaging solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Program Management

  • Own end-to-end delivery of imaging visualization and reporting products (2D/3D viewers, structured reporting, AI overlays).

  • Plan and execute delivery using Agile / SAFe / Hybrid methodologies.

  • Manage roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery metrics.

  • Drive cross-team coordination across frontend, backend, AI/ML, DevOps, QA, and integration teams.

  • Ensure on-time, on-scope, and on-quality delivery commitments.

Medical Imaging Domain Leadership

  • Lead delivery of solutions involving DICOM, non-DICOM, VNA, RIS, PACS, and Enterprise Viewer platforms.

  • Ensure correct implementation of:

    • Imaging workflows (order → acquisition → interpretation → reporting → distribution)

    • Visualization (MPR, MIP, VR, cine, hanging protocols)

    • Structured and narrative reporting

  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and clinical stakeholders (radiologists, cardiologists, operations).

Technical & Architecture Oversight

  • Collaborate with architects on:

    • Viewer architectures (web-based, zero-footprint, desktop)

    • Scalable backend services (study retrieval, rendering, caching)

    • AI integration pipelines (inference, annotations, GSPS, overlays)

  • Review technical designs for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

  • Guide teams on cloud-native delivery (AWS / GCP / Azure).

Quality, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards:

    • HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 13485/62304 (as applicable)

    • DICOM conformance and IHE profiles

  • Drive non-functional requirements:

    • Performance (large studies, 3D rendering)

    • Availability, scalability, and resilience

    • Security and data privacy

  • Lead release readiness, UAT, and production go-lives.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Act as the primary delivery point of contact for enterprise customers.

  • Present delivery status, risks, and mitigation plans to executive stakeholders.

  • Support customer demos, pilots, and phased rollouts.

  • Partner with Product Management to translate clinical and business needs into executable delivery plans.

Requirements

Experience

  • 15+ years in software delivery, with 5+ years in healthcare imaging or clinical systems.

  • Proven experience delivering PACS, Enterprise Viewer, VNA, or Imaging AI solutions.

  • Strong background in large-scale SaaS or enterprise healthcare platforms.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of:

    • DICOM, HL7, FHIR (working knowledge)

    • Medical imaging workflows and reporting

    • Web technologies for visualization (HTML5, WebGL, streaming)

    • Backend services, APIs, microservices

  • Familiarity with:

    • AI/ML in imaging (inference workflows, annotations)

    • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

    • DevOps, CI/CD, containerization

Delivery & Leadership Skills

  • Strong Agile delivery leadership (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).

  • Excellent risk management and dependency tracking skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple parallel delivery streams.

  • Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering FDA / CE-marked medical software.

  • Exposure to cardiology imaging, pathology, or 3D advanced visualization.

  • Prior experience working with radiologists or clinical operations teams.

  • PMP, SAFe, or Agile certifications (preferred).

Key Competencies

  • Healthcare domain depth

  • Technical credibility with engineering teams

  • Strong execution and accountability mindset

  • Customer-centric delivery approach

  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-compliance environments

Success Metrics

  • On-time delivery of committed imaging features and releases

  • High customer satisfaction and adoption

  • Stable, high-performance imaging platforms in production

  • Reduced delivery risks and escalations

  • Strong collaboration across product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders
