Technical Communicator

As a Technical Communicator, you will create a variety of technical content, from traditional documentation to engaging video tutorials, to enhance user experience and drive product adoption. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to gather information, analyse complex technical concepts, and translate them into clear and concise formats.

Key Responsibilities:

· Technical Content Creation: Develop, write, and edit a variety of technical documentation, including video tutorials and demonstrations, such as user manuals, online help systems, API documentation, release notes, and training materials.

· Content Strategy: Collaborate with product teams to define and implement content strategies that align with product roadmaps and user needs, incorporating video content where appropriate.

· Content Analysis: Utilize analytics tools to track user behaviour, measure document and video effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.

· User Experience: Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure that documentation and video content are user-friendly and meet user needs.

· Project Management: Manage multiple documentation and video projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

· 3+ years of experience in technical writing or a related field.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in technical writing tools and software (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office Suite).

· Experience with content management systems (CMS).

· Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

· Experience in video capture tools (Loom, Camtasia, Adobe).

· Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.

· A keen eye for detail and accuracy.

· A passion for creating high-quality technical content.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· Experience with technical writing standards (e.g., DITA, DocBook).

· Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).

· Experience with user research and usability testing.

· Experience with single-sourcing and content reuse strategies.
