Manage the procurement of specialized industrial equipment essential for a €1 billion diamond wafer production facility while ensuring compliance with sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
Diamond Foundry is seeking a Technical Buyer to join our foundational team in Zaragoza. As we scale our €1 billion diamond wafer production facility, you will be the primary link between our engineering requirements and our global supplier network. This is a high-impact role in which you will manage the procurement of specialized industrial equipment and semiconductor-grade components essential to our zero-emission manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Identify, vet, and onboard high-quality suppliers for specialized industrial materials and laboratory equipment, ensuring they meet our rigorous technical specifications.
End-to-End Procurement: Manage the full "Procure-to-Pay" cycle, including creating Purchase Orders (POs), tracking deliveries, and resolving any invoice or shipping discrepancies.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to drive cost-efficiency without compromising on quality or lead times.
Vendor Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for both local Spanish vendors and international technology partners, conducting regular performance reviews and audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering and Warehouse teams to forecast material needs and prevent "line-down" situations in the foundry.
Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with EU trade regulations, Spanish labor laws, and Diamond Foundry’s strict sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related Engineering field.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in technical procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally within the semiconductor, aerospace, chemical, or automotive industries.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read technical drawings or specifications to ensure purchased components meet engineering requirements.
Language Skills: Native or professional-level Spanish and professional fluency in English (essential for coordinating with our US headquarters).
Systems Proficiency: Strong experience using ERP systems (such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
