DOOR3 is seeking a consultative, mid-level Business Analyst to join our distributed team. In this client-facing role, you will act as the vital bridge between complex business needs and high-performance engineering. You won’t just document requirements; you will help shape technical strategy, translating business goals into robust software solutions.
What You Will Do
-
Define the “what” with precision: Partner directly with client stakeholders to capture needs and decisions, then translate them into clear, testable requirements – user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, and functional specs – so engineering and QA can execute with confidence.
-
Own the backlog from idea to delivery: Break down epics into right-sized stories, maintain priorities, ensure readiness for development, and keep requirements current as decisions evolve.
-
Model processes and data needs: Map current and future workflows, identify gaps, define data inputs/outputs, and document validations, exceptions, and edge cases.
-
Enable delivery planning: Partner with delivery and engineering leads on scope definition, tradeoffs, and estimation; support release planning and incremental delivery.
-
Support quality and adoption: Help define test scenarios and UAT plans, support defect triage, confirm fixes meet intent, and contribute to training/handoff materials when needed.
-
Technical fluency: Comfortable working with engineering to understand system behaviors and constraints (APIs, integrations, data flows, and non-functional requirements) and translating them into clear, buildable requirements - without needing to code, with knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts; able to perform queries and analyze data quality and data integration challenges of legacy systems.
The Ideal Candidate
-
Experience: 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience on digital products or software delivery teams, with client-facing responsibilities.
-
Requirements mastery: You consistently produce requirements that reduce ambiguity and rework - clear stories, strong acceptance criteria, and well-documented rules and flows.
-
Delivery fluency: Comfortable in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban); experienced supporting refinement, sprint planning, demos, and iterative releases.
-
Analytical mindset: Strong problem decomposition, structured thinking, and the ability to use data/metrics to clarify decisions and measure outcomes.
-
English proficiency: Excellent written and spoken English – comfortable leading workshops, documenting decisions and requirements, and communicating delivery tradeoffs with senior stakeholders.
-
Tooling familiarity: Jira and Confluence, AI and collaboration tools, comfort working alongside UX systems (e.g., Figma prototypes).
-
Time zone alignment: Able to work with meaningful overlap in European & US hours.
Preferred Skills:
- Consulting/agency background with multiple concurrent projects or clients.
- Experience with complex workflows (case management, finance, operations, B2B platforms) or integration-heavy systems (APIs, third parties).
- Exposure to technical concepts such as web applications, APIs, identity/auth, and cloud services – enough to collaborate effectively with engineers.
- Fluency in English (C1 level)
Why Join Us?
- Remote-First: Work from anywhere in Europe (to align with our primary team hours).
- Impact: Work on diverse projects across different business domains.
- Growth: Engage with complex, custom software builds challenging your problem-solving skills.
Location: Remote (Europe / CET Time Zone preferred)
Type: Hourly Contractor, from part-time to full-time, based on the project needs
