Title: Technical Asset Manager
Location: Strong preference for residency within the Northeast (VT, NY, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI). New locations considered on a case-by-case basis.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing asset management team. In this role, you will be a key member of the team managing the performance, operations, data systems, and optimization of our PV and BESS assets. This role will primarily act in the day-to-day operations of technical asset management, and will report to the Director of Asset Management. This position will have a heavy focus on managing data through technical systems, SCADA, monitoring portals, APIs, and VPN access/networking systems. In addition, you will be involved in strategic planning relating to the operations of our assets; work closely with our accounting team as it relates to the intersection of operational and financial performance; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making, maximize asset performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities
Technical lead for hardware and software related to project data acquisition and monitoring systems
Primary point of contact for monitoring hardware and software vendors
DAS hardware drawings and specification reviews and approval
Monitor and manage the performance of PV and BESS assets to ensure operational efficiency and optimize asset performance
Manage contractor and vendor relationships for ongoing operations and maintenance services, including preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring contract adherence and uptime
Support with landowner relationships and associated leases as needed
Support with ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements regarding PV and BESS assets, as needed
Track equipment warranties and compliance
Drive asset performance analytics, root-cause investigations, and loss assessments
Prepare reports for stakeholders and maintain performance dashboards
Monitor DAS/SCADA platforms, utilizing API integrations with CMMS and ticketing systems
Manage VPN and remote access systems; oversee asset-level communications, data integrity, and cybersecurity
Collaborate on safety incident reporting, emergency planning, and compliance tracking
Lead BESS performance monitoring and diagnostics (Roundtrip efficiency, throughput, degradation tracking, and cycle analysis)
Manage BESS dispatch requests, monitoring system trends and anomalies
Support optimization opportunities, repowering, and end-of-life considerations and logistics for PV and BESS systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making, maximize asset performance, and ensure regulatory compliance
Your experience
5+ years of experience in an asset management related role within the PV, commercial battery energy storage or similar industry, with strong understanding of data collection systems, SCADA, monitoring, APIs and VPN networking systems.
Experience with Salesforce or other CMMS software
Ability to read and interpret line diagrams, site plans, and data schematics
Ability to work across departments, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Commitment to personal learning, growth and development
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners - including land owners, AHJs, utilities, contractors, consultants, and others - to align on goals and share updates on asset performance
