Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Artist to join our game development team. The role of a Technical Artist is to bridge the gap between the art team and the development team, ensuring visually stunning and technically optimized game assets for the game engine.

You will collaborate closely with 3D artists, animators, designers, and programmers to develop efficient pipelines, create tools, and ensure that all game assets look and perform their best in Unreal Engine or Unity.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Technical Artist in the game industry.
  • Strong experience with Unreal Engine and Unity materials, Blueprints/C#, profiling tools, asset integration, and level art creation.
  • Good understanding of PBR workflows, UV unwrapping, baking, and procedural material creation.
    Ability to create and modify real-time shaders (UE Material Editor, Unity Shader Graph, HLSL basics) to achieve desired visual and post-processing effects.
  • Proficiency in Maya/Max/Blender and scripting for pipeline automation (Python,Mel,C# preferred).
  • Proficiency with Substance Designer/Painter and procedural texture workflows.
  • Experience with real-time performance optimization in game engines.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce, Git, or Plastic SCM.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Houdini for procedural tools to make game art pipeline more effective.
  • Knowledge of VFX workflows (Niagara, Unity VFX Graph).
  • Understanding of lighting, post-processing, exposure, and color grading.
  • Experience in AAA or mid-size studio production pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

●     Create world-building and level art using Unreal or Unity based on design and gameplay requirements.

●     Design, develop, and maintain art pipelines for characters, environments, hard-surface assets, and vegetation.

●     Collaborate with artists and programmers to integrate models, textures, animations, and VFX into the game engine.

●     Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to 3D meshes, UVs, materials, shaders, lighting, LODs, and rendering artifacts.

●     Work with art leads to create documentation, asset specifications, pipeline workflows, and best practices.

●     Profile and optimize assets for memory usage, GPU/CPU performance, texture streaming, and draw calls.
