The Purpose: 

The purpose of the Technical Analyst role is for supporting and investigating business situations, analysing requirements, and assisting in the delivery and operational lifecycle of technology solutions. The role ensures business and technical needs are clearly defined, feasible, and aligned with organisational objectives, while contributing to the effective deployment, configuration, and release of IT infrastructure and services in a dynamic payments environment.  

The core accountabilities of the role will include: 

  • Analyse business issues to identify problems and opportunities, contributing to practical solutions and improvements. 
  • Support feasibility assessments by gathering insights, evaluating options, and documenting business change proposals. 
  • Apply standard techniques to elicit, define, and manage requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and backlogs. 
  • Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining IT systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. 
  • Execute operational procedures such as system backups and restores and streamline routine administration through automation and scripting. 
  • Coordinate and support release planning and delivery, adhering to established schedules and governance processes. 
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance to validate releases, troubleshoot issues, and maintain release integrity. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse business needs and requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. 

The capabilities needed to be successful for this role are: 

  • Ability to analyse complex business and technical situations to identify requirements, assess feasibility, and propose effective solutions. 
  • Strong capability in requirements gathering, documentation, and management, with a structured and analytical approach. 
  • Skilled in translating business needs into technical specifications and solution designs that align with organisational goals. 
  • Understanding of payments systems, technologies, and integration processes, with the ability to navigate both business and technical contexts. 
  • Competence in applying user experience design principles to improve usability and customer outcomes. 
  • Proficiency in change control and configuration management to ensure reliable and compliant solution delivery. 
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. 
  • Awareness of operational processes, governance, and quality standards that support smooth system changes and releases.
