We’re looking for a Tech Director to drive enterprise-scale architecture and platform strategy, leading the design and delivery of highly scalable, cloud-native distributed systems for a major healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and implementation of highly available, scalable distributed systems.
  • Define technical standards, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Design and build full-stack solutions in cloud-native environments.
  • Provide technical leadership across teams (mentorship, design reviews, code reviews).
  • Partner with Product, Data, Security, and clients to translate business and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2) into technical solutions.
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and resilience for high-volume transactional systems.
  • Architect detailed technical solutions aligned with project scope and domain requirements.
  • Leverage cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) to build scalable and resilient systems.
  • Lead technical discussions, solution workshops, and client briefings.
  • Produce documentation and runbooks for delivered architectures and code.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in one or more: Java, Python, Go, Kotlin, C#, Node.js.
  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, Kafka/SQS, relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Advanced React/Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript experience.
  • Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Microservices or event-driven architecture (Kafka, SQS, etc.).
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code.
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
  • Experience integrating with healthcare platforms (Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, NextGen, Allscripts, PointClickCare, Veeva, Medidata) is a plus.
  • Pragmatic decision-making balanced with engineering excellence.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders and executive audiences.

Nice-to-have

  • AI Tooling Proficiency: Use one or more AI tools to optimize day-to-day work (drafting, analysis, research, or process automation), recommend effective use, and spot workflow streamlining opportunities.
  • Building and operating AI-powered tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate the software development lifecycle
  • Experience in healthcare tech or fintech industries.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, EDI standards.
  • Experience applying automation or AI to engineering workflows.
