Take ownership of RF-related activities in satellite production, lead a multidisciplinary team in subsystem assembly and testing, and drive continuous improvement in RF manufacturing.

Who We Are

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience.

ICEYE operates internationally with offices in Finland, Poland, Spain, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US. The company has more than 900 employees, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

The Mission

ICEYE is seeking a RF Production Team Lead to take ownership of all RF-related activities across the satellite production lifecycle—from incoming RF component verification to full satellite-level RF system testing. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role at the core of ICEYE’s spacecraft manufacturing operations. You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for RF subsystem assembly, functional testing, and inspection—ensuring that every RF element of the spacecraft meets our rigorous quality and reliability standards.

Your team will start with verification of RF components and antenna readiness, proceed through subsystem assembly and validation, and ultimately lead most of the full RF testing at satellite level. You will be responsible for team execution, robust process development, and ensuring full traceability and compliance with aerospace standards. Working closely with AIT, Engineering, and Quality teams, you will resolve issues, maintain smooth production flow, and drive continuous improvement in RF manufacturing practices. As satellite production scales, you will play a key role in building and maturing a high-performing, quality-driven RF production team.

Expected Outcomes & Requirements

Outcomes:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the RF production team, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery of assemblies and tests
  • Oversee the verification of incoming RF components and ensure readiness of antennas and RF systems for integration
  • Execute anechoic chamber tests and characterizations of RF subsystems and components
  • Own the planning, execution, and reporting of subsystem-level functional tests and inspections
  • Lead RF testing at the satellite level, ensuring all onboard RF systems perform reliably in end-to-end configurations—executed together with your team and in close collaboration with others in a matrix structure
  • Ensure test benches, tools, and setups are maintained, functional, and compliant with safety and quality standards, specifically for RF measurements
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, test procedures, and checklists in collaboration with AIT Engineering and Quality teams
  • Train and mentor technicians on best practices in RF assembly, handling, and fault diagnostics
  • Drive process improvements to increase throughput, reduce rework, and enhance traceability and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production Engineering, and AIT Engineering teams to support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during integration
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace and RF quality standards (ECSS, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with Lean and 6S practices
  • Monitor build progress, proactively identify blockers, and work with planning and supply chain teams to resolve issues
  • Support production ramp-up as ICEYE scales its satellite output, contributing to the growth and development of a high-performing team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in RF, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field with an RF focus
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in RF production, integration, or testing—preferably in aerospace or other high-reliability environments
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams in a production or test environment
  • Experience in functional and system-level testing of complex RF systems
  • Experience working with RF test benches, tooling, and production documentation
  • Experience in root cause analysis, diagnostics, and fault isolation of RF systems
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills—especially with Engineering, AIT, and Quality teams
  • Strong mindset of ownership, quality, structure, and continuous improvement
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing, 6S, or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Structured and quality-driven, but thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and adapting to changing priorities
  • Strong team builder, people mentor, and hands-on leader—leads by example
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented, with a willingness to improve processes, not just follow them

Nice To Have:

  • Background in NewSpace, satellite production, or high-volume aerospace integration
  • Experience in writing and optimizing assembly and test procedures
  • System-level understanding of satellite RF architecture and RF interfaces
  • Familiarity with satellite RF architecture or communication systems
  • Strong background in RF subsystem assembly, waveguide integration, and RF test best practices
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ECSS, or equivalent)

Key Competences

In addition to the requirements above, we evaluate candidates on these key qualities throughout the hiring process:

  • Intellectual Firepower: Rapidly comprehends, structures and synthesizes complex information, draws accurate conclusions, and communicates them with clarity.
