As a Team Lead Demand Planning you will shape and drive the company’s demand planning strategy across the full portfolio. You will lead and develop a team of demand planners, set clear priorities, and continuously evolve our demand planning framework to support accurate forecasting and proactive, data-driven decision-making. By translating performance trends and market dynamics into clear guidance for senior stakeholders, your work will directly impact forecast accuracy, inventory optimisation, operational efficiency and revenue performance. This position is permanent and based in Munich.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own and lead the demand forecasting process for Westwing’s Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) portfolio, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives
Monitor and continuously optimise forecast accuracy KPIs (MAPE, Bias, Rolling Forecast Error), driving root cause analysis, implementing sustainable, structural improvements as well as continuously evolving forecasting methodology, including machine learning applications
Lead strategic demand planning initiatives, including business expansion and other high-impact, cross-functional priority projects
Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, integrating market intelligence, demand drivers, and promotional strategies into forecasting decisions
Champion process innovation by implementing automation, analytical enhancements, and workflow improvements to increase forecasting precision and efficiency
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four demand planners, setting clear priorities, ensuring high forecast quality and consistent planning standards, and building expertise in advanced forecasting techniques and cross-functional collaboration

YOU COME WITH

Degree in supply chain, business analytics, statistics, economics, industrial engineering, or a related field
6+ years of experience in demand planning or supply chain analytics, managing complex, multi-SKU portfolios across regions
Advanced knowledge of statistical and machine learning forecasting methods (e.g., multivariate regression, time-series modelling), with a strong command of metrics like MAPE and forecast bias; proven ability to design, implement, and continuously improve forecasting models and planning processes
Excellent analytical and structured mindset, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable demand forecasts and business decisions
First proven leadership experience and a strong ownership mentality, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop a team while taking full accountability for forecast quality, availability, and revenue impact
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and assertiveness, able to align and challenge stakeholders and drive decisions in a complex, cross-functional environment
Proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus
