Team Lead- Cybersecurity
As the Cybersecurity Team Lead at Astranis, you will be a leader with a deep specialization in security, responsible for building and leading a team dedicated to securing our products and infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, managing security projects, and mentoring a team of talented security engineers. This role requires a strong background in product security, with experience in offensive security, secure software development, and risk management.
Role
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of security engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Project Management: Plan, execute, and deliver complex security projects, including penetration tests, security architecture reviews, and the implementation of new security controls.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the company's subject matter expert on product and application security, providing technical guidance and making key decisions on security architecture and strategy.
- Lead the design and implementation of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including threat modeling, code review, and security testing.
- Oversee and participate in penetration testing and red team exercises to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in our products and infrastructure.
- Conduct risk assessments, prioritize threats, and work with engineering teams to develop and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Partner with engineering, IT, and other teams to ensure that security is a primary consideration in all aspects of our products and services.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on product and application security.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team of security engineers.
- Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: C, C++, ARM, cryptography, PKI, embedded systems security.
- Demonstrated experience leading penetration tests, threat modeling, and security assessments.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, frameworks, and secure architecture design.
- Experience in the aerospace or telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-native attack vectors (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Published security research or participation in bug bounty programs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
