ROLE OVERVIEW :

The Team Lead, Business Development plays a critical leadership role in driving the performance, execution, and operational excellence of Robotiq’s Business Development Representatives (BDRs) team. This role ensures the consistent generation of high-quality, sales-ready opportunities while maintaining strong discipline, efficiency, and alignment with Sales, Marketing, and Partners.


While this role does not act as a direct people manager, it is accountable for performance management, pipeline outcomes, and the continuous improvement of the Business Development function.



MEANINGFUL RESPONSIBILITIES  :

  • Own the performance, results, and operating rhythm of the BDR team across regions and time zones;
  • Define and enforce lead qualification standards, routing rules, and CRM best practices;
  • Convert revenue and pipeline objectives into clear BDR priorities, targets, and execution plans;
  • Collaborate with Marketing to optimize follow-up on Robotiq-sourced demand and provide feedback on lead quality;
  • Monitor performance dashboards and funnel metrics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement;
  • Maintain healthy backlog and capacity management across the BD team.



HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED (KPIs):

  • Time to First Touch (TTFT);
  • Pipeline value influenced and deal creation velocity;
  • Lead-to-deal conversion rate;
  • Quality and consistency of BD activity (calls, meetings, outreach);
  • Effectiveness of lead handoffs to Sales and Partners;
  • Backlog and capacity health.



DESIRED PROFILE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related field;
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Revenue Operations, including 2+ years leading, coaching, or influencing BD teams or strategies;
  • Proven ability to manage performance and pipeline outcomes through data;
  • Experience in B2B, industrial, or technical sales environments is a strong asset;
  • Strong proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot), sales performance dashboards and and pipeline analytics;
  • Solid understanding of lead routing, qualification frameworks (BANT, ICP), and BDR workflows;
  • Experience running operating cadences (weekly reviews, performance tracking, forecasting);
  • Results-driven leader able to influence and align teams without direct authority;
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear, structured communication skills;
  • Flexible with work hours and location depending on business requirements (remote work, or different employee and customer time zones);
  • Available to travel within Americas and EMEA. A valid passport and driver’s license are required.


  • Language Skills : 
    • English: Full professional proficiency;
    • French, German or Italian: Fluent proficiency to communicate comfortably internally and externally (essential for this role)
    • Any other relevant language will be considered an asset.
