TEAM
Arene’s vision is to enable the most programmable vehicles on the planet. The Arene Software Engineering team develops and delivers the next generation in-vehicle software platform that can host applications ranging from automated driving to in-cabin experiences. The Application Framework is one of the main layers that make up Vehicle SDK, the in-vehicle embedded application platform for Software Defined Vehicle applications development. It’s a collection of distributed services that facilitate the development and execution of OEM applications, enabling OEM’s competitive advantage. We’d like to grow the team to create a foundation of the new generation of the Application Framework in collaboration with global partners.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for highly skilled engineers who:
・are excited to enhance in-vehicle user experience through enhancing our embedded application platform and SDK
・can inspire and direct a strong team
・actively take ownership of decisions, risks, work products, and relationships with collaborators or customers
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a mentor figure, engaging and growing people
Take care of administrative tasks and HR processes, such as goal setting and evaluation, application of corporate policies etc
Closely interface with the broader stakeholders to align technical and product activities and delivery milestones
Lead continuous improvement of the team
Provide technical leadership and technical guidance to the team
Provide hands-on support when needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years experience leading a team in the software engineering or automotive domain, with 8+ years of total experience
An empathic leader capable of understanding human beings, identifying their strengths and their weaknesses
Experience working in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures
Excellent technical abilities, capability to quickly understand complex technical situations that usually involve people, processes and product
Experience in producing code in C++, Rust, or other systems programming languages
Strong English ability and people engagement skills
NICE TO HAVES
Understanding of vehicle software standards, including AUTOSAR, MISRA, CERT, and the ISO 26262 standard for automotive functional safety
Strong Japanese ability, including the ability to read and write technical documents and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Proficiency in developing operating systems or device drivers
Familiarity with real-time, distributed, and parallel computing
Familiarity with automotive or embedded processor architectures, such as ARM and x86
Familiarity with QNX, Android Automotive OS
Experience with the Yocto/BitBake build system
Experience in developing vehicle software with mixed criticality
Experience in abstracting vehicle software architecture that span across multiple domains and generations
Experience in developing safety-critical or hard real-time applications
Collaborative experience with Design, User Research, and Data Science teams, with a deep understanding of UX
