Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all. ========================================================================= TEAM The role of the Accessibility Office is to lead & program manage our People with Disabilities (PWD) initiatives, strengthen the support system for employees with disabilities and contribute to building a stronger culture of inclusion over all. By building strong working relationships both with members with disabilities across different business units as well as the critical stakeholders in those businesses, the team provides counseling, training, and practical support based on specialized expertise, helping reduce the management burden and associated risks at the operational level. In addition, the Accessibility Office serves as a central function that enhances organizational inclusiveness and operational efficiency, driving sustainable growth and fostering a more supportive and productive work environment. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership and has experience building or growing teams to drive the mission of the Accessibility Office, respecting each member’s individual strengths while supporting the growth of the organization as a whole. Strong program management and organizational skills are also required to make sure that the full range and services of activities for the office are conducted in a high quality manner, improving what we have with a mind of kaizen and creating what is missing with a strong sense of ownership.  To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work independently, program management skills, ability to build strong relationships with critical stakeholders, practical problem solving skills, as well as a strong collaborator with each business by providing counseling, training, and practical support to employees with disabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Team ・Build and manage a team that will take on admin support for various business units  ・Work with each business unit to map appropriate work that can be can be centralized under this team ・Monitor task progress, manage workload distribution, and conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, including monitoring the physical and mental well-being of team members ・Develop strategies and execute on initiatives to build a talent pool within the PWD job market, specifically targeting candidates with disabilities who can contribute to the organization's growth ・Oversee and manage the annual budget for the Accessibility Office, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources for workplace accommodations, employee support, and training initiatives Company Wide ・Propose and implement strategic initiatives for developing the support system and organizational framework for employees with disabilities, aligned with company goals and local needs ・Serve as a subject matter expert on workplace accommodations and disability management, offering expert counseling to business units ・Ensure all support systems and operational processes adhere to Japanese legal frameworks related to disability employment and workplace accessibility (e.g., Syougai-sha Koyou Sokushin-hou) ・Oversee and actively participate in providing practical support, specialized training, and business process improvement efforts for employees with disabilities and their respective teams ・Champion and lead company-wide initiatives and campaigns to build a positive and inclusive culture, raising awareness and understanding of disability inclusion among all employees, not just the teams directly involved ・Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (HR, Legal, other business units) to enhance organizational inclusiveness and operational efficiency ・Track, analyze, and prepare regular reports on key metrics, including progress toward meeting the legal disability employment quota in Japan, the utilization and effectiveness of support systems, and overall team performance, for presentation to HR and Senior Leadership ・Cultivate relationships with external partners in the Japanese disability employment sector, such as Hellowork (Public Employment Security Office) and Shienkikan (Support Institutions), to facilitate recruitment and ongoing support MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience and 3+ years of management experience or equivalent experience leading programs and teams focused on supporting employees with disabilities
  • Expert knowledge of disabilities, workplace accommodations, and the relevant Japanese legal frameworks related to disability employment and workplace accessibility (e.g., Syougai-sha Koyou Sokushin-hou) 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (HR, Legal) and the necessary external partners in the Japanese disability employment sector (e.g., Hellowork and Shienkikan)
  • Professional working proficiency in Japanese and intermediate English 
  • Knowledge of disabilities and relevant legal frameworks
  • Proficiency in standard business software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite)
