TE - 05 - Senior Backend Developer (Python / AI)

Our client is building a next-generation educational platform that delivers personalized learning experiences and supports teachers with real-time classroom insights. The goal is to redefine edtech by combining strong pedagogical principles with modern AI—creating technology with real societal impact.

They are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to help shape the foundation of this platform and set a new standard for intelligent, responsible learning systems.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Develop and own core backend components of the learning platform, including feedback and content delivery modules

• Design and implement LLM-powered workflows using Azure AI Foundry, with a strong focus on didactic guardrails and responsible AI usage

• Build robust, scalable backend systems using Python, primarily with Django and LangChain

• Focus primarily on new feature development with minimal legacy code or maintenance overhead

• Collaborate closely within an agile development process, contributing to clear scoping, thoughtful architecture, and high-quality delivery

• Take ownership of features from concept through production, ensuring reliability and maintainability

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong academic or technical foundation

• Proven ability to independently manage projects end-to-end

• Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and SQL (required for a fast ramp-up)

• Experience designing clean, maintainable APIs and backend systems

• Experience with LLM workflows or AI-driven backend systems is a strong plus

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Git (GitFlow) and GitHub Actions

• Experience with Terraform and Azure cloud infrastructure

• Exposure to production AI systems, ML pipelines, or educational technology platforms
