The role:

As Tax Specialist you will support the corporate finance function, playing a pivotal role in delivering results for our year end. 

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will be working closely with the UK Finance team, our Group Accountant, other subsidiary entities and external advisors. This role will be responsible for supporting the team with UK and group tax work required for our December 2025 year end.

You will have a strong track record working in senior tax positions, experience of UK corporation tax submissions, preferably within multi-national businesses. 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Drive CT600 submissions with support from external advisors.
  • Support the finalisation of the R&D tax credit and patent box submissions.
  • Support the year-end tax calculations for the SPT Labtech group for UK statutory accounts filing.
  • Support the annual audit process in relation to taxation matters.
  • Prepare annual tax disclosures notes for the UK statutory accounts.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure a clean and timely audit.

Ensure taxation obligations are met.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in a senior tax role, primarily UK focused and ideally with some exposure to European and US markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of R&D tax credits and corporate interest restriction.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office products.
  • Focus on meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Relevant taxation qualifications.
  • Office based for minimum of 2 days per week.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing and/or research and development organisation would be an advantage.
