Tax Manager

YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:

Tax Accounting and Reporting:

• You will support and monitor the deferred and actual tax calculations for all consolidated legal entities during the year-end closing and quarterly statements.
• You will be responsible for monitoring temporary and permanent differences for the group's financial reporting.
• You will track tax reserves and risks and ensure proper documentation.

Compliance & Process Optimization:

• You will be responsible for the review of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns within the group.
• You will assist the team with tax compliance matters for the Freenow Group, specifically by tracking tax declaration statuses, and coordinating timely filing in collaboration with local stakeholders (CIT, WHT). The actual declaration tasks are fully outsourced to external tax consulting firms.
• You will assist in the implementation of accounting driven international tax regulations, such as Pillar II and CbCR.
• You will be involved in local tax audits, supporting the team and external advisors in ensuring a smooth process and the protection of group interests and positions.
• You will contribute to the further development of measures to ensure tax compliance, including automation and digitization of processes, and the creation of internal guidelines and implementation of new requirements.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• You have a strong background in Corporate Income Tax (CIT) compliance/ declarations with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in international tax.
• You have experience in handling tax audits.
• You have a proven background in tax accounting, ideally with a strong understanding of IAS 12 and its practical application.
• You have successfully completed a university degree in economics or tax; alternatively, you have completed a commercial education or apprenticeship with qualified training.
• Experience in a Big-4 or similarly complex international environment is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, BC) to help optimize the workflows between tax and accounting would be a plus
• You have an analytical mindset and a comprehensive understanding of international tax principles and mechanisms, including accounting-driven international tax regulations like Pillar II and CbCR.
• You develop a high sense of responsibility with an owner-mentality for your work field and know how to manage fast-close processes in an international group.
• You have strong coordination skills. Experience in managing outsourced tax services or multinational engagements is a plus.
• You have good MS Office skills and respectively Google equivalents, especially in MS Excel. This position comes with multiple data-driven tasks.
• Professional working proficiency in English and German.
