We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager – Brazil to lead Brazilian tax compliance and transactional tax matters, ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and municipal regulations. This role will be responsible for reviewing tax filings, managing tax risks, overseeing local tax analysts, and partnering closely with regional and global tax teams to ensure strong internal controls and efficient tax processes across dLocal’s Brazilian operations. What will you do?
  • Tax Compliance & Review
  • Review and validate Brazilian tax returns at federal, state, and municipal levels (IRPJ/CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ISS, ICMS, among others).
  • Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of withholding taxes (IRRF, PIS/COFINS/CSLL, INSS, ISS).
  • Oversee tax account reconciliations and support monthly and quarterly closings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and payments in compliance with local regulations.

  • Transactional Taxes & IOF
  • Manage and review transactional taxes applicable to international merchants, with a strong focus on IOF (Imposto sobre Operações Financeiras).
  • Ensure correct IOF application and rate determination across FX, credit operations, remittances, and cross-border transaction flows.
  • Review IOF reporting, reconciliations, filings, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Product, Payments, Treasury, and Operations teams to assess tax impacts of new transaction flows and operational changes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes impacting IOF and other transactional taxes.

  • Tax Control, Advisory & Monitoring
  • Prepare consolidated tax information, including withholdings, payments, and tax credits.
  • Monitor tax positions and exposures, identifying risks and ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Provide tax guidance on incentives, deductions, credits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support new product launches and business initiatives from a tax perspective.
  • Analyze Brazilian tax reform and assess its impact on dLocal’s operations, recommending necessary changes.

  • Stakeholder & Authority Management
  • Manage interactions with tax authorities (RFB, SEFAZ, and municipalities).
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure high-quality compliance and advisory support.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Product, and Operations to ensure proper tax treatment and reporting.

  • Internal Controls & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain and enhance internal tax controls aligned with global standards.
  • Develop, document, and update tax policies and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with changes in Brazilian tax legislation, especially those impacting cross-border payments.
  • What skills do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in Brazilian tax, ideally within fintech, payments, technology, or multinational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian tax regulations, including IRPJ/CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ISS, ICMS, IOF, eSocial, ECD/ECF, DCTFWeb.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability for deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience working with ERPs and tax automation tools; SAP experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
