Job Purpose:

Tax

Centralizes all tax matters. Primarily responsible for timely and accurate Tax declaration and tax integrity within VEB. First line of defense against tax risks. Interacts with COB to solve tax related issues.

 

Fix Assets

For OIL, LPG and Lubricants, ensured the proper accounting and recording of all fixed assets transactions in accordance with Group standards.  The incumbent will be responsible for preparing various periodic analyses and account reconciliations. The candidate will interact with varying levels of Finance and Operations teams as it pertains to fixed assets transactions, capitalization policy, capital expenditure coding and reclassification, WIP follow up and resolution.

Principal Accountabilities:

 1. Income Tax/ Withholding tax/ Corporate Tax

  • IT
  • Solidarity tax
  • Withholding tax
  • Follow up on quarterly advances in Corporate Tax
  • Responsible for follow up and maintenance of access protocol to Tax authorities’ servers
  • Payroll & HRM Taxes (IUTS, TPA, CNSS) Control

 

2. Tax accounting

  • VEB accounts reconciliation
  • Customs accounts reconciliation
  • Consultancy accounts reconciliation and related tax disclosure
  • Updating legal ledgers in collaboration with legal manager
  • Be alert to legislative changes/updates and adjust accordingly

 

3. Tax authorities’ interface

 

  • Follow up and issuance of tax certificate as required by the businesses
  • Active participation in year-end /month-end closures

 

- Fixed Assets Accounting Transactions Controls (Capitalization, transfers, assets sales….):

- Elaborate the monthly FA depreciation calculation, verification & booking.

- Analysis and cleanup of WIP fixed assets by COB, following the current Umoja applicable Procedures

- Contribute to SAP KPI target in own area:

- Assist in planning the recurring fixed assets verification planned, producing evidence report and initiating the necessary adjustment

- Asset Verification

- Support COB when needed (Registers, Cost Account, Accumulated Depreciation, impairment…).

- Follow up CAPEX BU creation by COB for depreciation run:

- FA Integrities follow up and clean up:

- Prepare reports/extracts for monthly analysis of BS accounts with reconciliation in SAP to enhance KPI 2.

- Support Finance Controller: 100% Effective Compliance with properly evidenced control execution

Requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Hold a master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Audit
  • Good experience in tax field 2 to 4 years’
  • Should have and demonstrate a sufficient level of rigor and maturity to allow easy interaction with Tax authorities.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
